Many students struggle with messy handwriting. But did you know? Poor handwriting isn't just a sign of laziness or being sloppy, nor does it necessarily improve with age. Handwriting is a fundamental skill that impacts more than just grades. It is linked to students' learning and development, self-esteem, and happiness

Students with poor handwriting and difficulty expressing themselves through writing may have a learning disability called dysgraphia. Such students may feel frustrated, embarrassed, and low motivation when it comes to writing tasks. So, what should educators do?

Through this workshop, ELG's occupational therapists and Learning Without TearsTM certified handwriting specialists, will provide an overview of handwriting development and equip educators

Key Takeaways:

  • Gain an overview of handwriting development and the proper expectations for students of different age groups
  • Understand what dysgraphia is and how it impacts students' performance
  • Learn simple ways to spot red flags through students handwriting
  • Learn practical strategies to support students with handwriting challenges
