Some parents find that their children have no problem communicating when it comes to family members. Their communication is smooth and eloquent. However, when it comes to people outside the family and particularly in the public, communication becomes a huge challenge. Their child may struggle to answer questions asked by adults, including their schoolteachers. They are also unwilling to play games with other kids. This may leave parents feeling confused and helpless. Why can't my child communicate and get along well with others? What are the underlying reasons?
In this workshop led by ELG's Speech-Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist, parents will learn about the development process of children's social skills, understand the feelings of children in different environments, and find out various social difficulties and their corresponding behaviors children may encounter.
Join our specialists as they guide parents and provide you with the right tools to support children's social skills development in daily life.

Jojo specializes in providing Routine Based Model (RBM) interventions to help parents implement strategies across different settings. She provides sensory diets to children in a one-on-one capacity and uses techniques such as sensory massage and brushing to help children become regulated, improve attention, and focus on academics. She provides informal and formal assessments and develops individualized development plans to meet children’s needs. She also regularly communicates with parents and caregivers to provide ongoing support. Jojo is dedicated to helping children make the most of their living environments – at home, in the classroom, and in the wider community.

Tiffany is an internationally certified bilingual speech-language pathologist who specializes in conducting speech-language therapy with children that possess various degrees of speech-language delays/disorders. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist in New York and Taiwan. She is also a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the recent recipient of ASHA’s Distinguished Early Career Professional (ECP) Certificate in 2020. Tiffany has experience working in both educational and clinical environments supporting children and adults. She also provides parent education in order to increase awareness and carry-through of each client’s abilities. Tiffany loves being able to use creative play, activities, and conversation topics to encourage speech-language development. Helping people and getting to know them keeps her energized and excited to work every day.
