Bullying refers to comments, words or actions with malice, emotion, and is an intentional act of hurting and humiliating another person. Whether online or offline, physical, or mental, it is a huge challenge that today's children face. In the last decade or so, the education community and all segments of society have devoted more attention to the effects of bullying and to its prevention. However, bullying continues, and many children continue to be victims of all types of bullying. So how should parents and teachers respond when faced with situations like bullying of their children and students?
In this workshop, participants will learn about the definition and dynamics of bullying, common myths and misconceptions about bullying, the various types of bullying, and the warning signs of bullying. With this fundamental knowledge, participants will have an increased awareness and understanding of bullying, an improved ability to discover and identify bullying early on, and concrete strategies to support children who are experiencing bullying.
